FAQs
What kind of projects do you do?
I focus most of my time and energy on four kinds of projects:
- Home remodeling and design
- New home design
- 3D modeling, which simply means turning two dimensional plans and blueprints into 3D computer presentations
- [Container construction. I confess I don’t get as much work turning containers into beautiful, functional, and green living spaces as I would like, but very few people do this.
Do you just do designs?
No, I also oversee my own team of subcontractors on jobs and do what we call the close work, or finish work, myself. Whatever I do, I make sure my clients get the best.
Do you do the work yourself, or do you hire it out to subcontractors?
I do a lot of the finish work myself, but I also have a team of subcontractors that I have relied on for years who work with me. I make sure they share my desire to produce only the best work.
How long before you start my project after I sign a contract?
I know this is the question everyone wants to know about, but the only honest answer I can give is that it depends. It depends on the nature and size of the project, the type and quality of materials needed and sometimes even the weather.
When you hire me, I give you my best estimate of when I can start.
How many projects do you do at a time?
This also depends on the size and nature of the projects. What I can promise is that I do not overbook myself, and you will always be able to reach me.
How long will my project take?
That’s another “it depends” answer. Part of our discussion around the contract is just that. But I always warn people that weather and the availability of the right materials can make a liar out of anyone.
How much do you charge?
Enough to do a great job and still make a living. We can talk about fees when we discuss your project in detail.
